OK, I con­fess, my New Year’s res­o­lu­tion was to exag­ger­ate more; but it is absolutely true that we just released our third course since Christ­mas, Can­dyce Mairs’ From Web Design to Web­site. In this course Can­dyce walks you through the process of turn­ing a design cre­ated in Photoshop or Photoshop Ele­ments into a full-​​fledged web­site in Dreamweaver.

Draw­ing on her exten­sive per­sonal expe­ri­ence, Can­dyce will teach you how to plan ahead for the best results and how to avoid com­mon pit­falls along the way. First you’ll learn how to cre­ate wire­frames, plan your page lay­out, “slice” a graphic design for con­ver­sion, and opti­mize and export your images for the web. Then, once you have every­thing ready, you’ll use Dreamweaver and Cas­cad­ing Style Sheets (CSS) to set up your web­site and add text, images, and other ele­ments. And, of course, no web­site is com­plete before it is tested, so in the final chap­ter Can­dyce shows you how to try out your site in var­i­ous browsers to make sure your users have the best expe­ri­ence possible.
