Using Layer Styles in Photoshop CS6

Photoshop layer styles give you a quick and easy way to apply spe­cial effects to a layer in a non­de­struc­tive way. You can use one of the pro­vided layer styles as is, or you can manip­u­late its set­tings to cus­tomize it to your heart’s content.
